Notelane is a beautifully minimal markdown notes app.

Your notes, stored wherever you choose.
No lock-in. No proprietary formats.
And it's free.

Write in markdown and see your formatting come to life as you type — headings, bold, italic, links, code blocks, checklists, and more — all rendered inline.Your files. Your folders. Your way.
Notelane works directly with the files on your iPhone and iPad. On first launch, pick any folder — local storage, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or any connected cloud provider visible in the Files app. Your notes stay as standard .md or .txt files, fully portable and never locked in.

Why did you build Notelane?
I built Notelane because I wanted a clean, simple Markdown notes app that gives me control over my files. Many note-taking apps feel too locked-in, too bloated, or too dependent on their own cloud. Notelane is meant to be simple, local-first, and built around files you own.
How can I send feedback?
I’d love to hear your feedback, ideas, and bug reports. You can reach out through the contact option on the Notelane website or wherever you found the app.
